Judo Ground Work: Old School Basic Turnover

There is nothing particularly fancy or special about this turnover but it is effective and worth adding here as a something that every judoka should have as part of their skill set.

The more advanced players may want something more elaborate but if they haven't got something like this in their repertoire then they might just be missing something in their education.

The reality is that most contest don't give you the chance to do anything fancy and the winner will be the one who has the best grip on the basics.

Personally I will take the basic over the elaborate any day. There are a whole bunch of things that I have learned over the years that I never got to use because the opportunity never presented itself. So much so that I doubt that I would have been able to remember how to execute these skills had the opportunity come up because I almost certainly would have forgotten how.
